Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree
The BryanLGH College of Health Sciences School of Nursing offers a complete undergraduate degree that combines a clinically based study of nursing with a solid foundation in the natural sciences, social sciences, communications and humanities.
BSN students are trained professionals prepared to deliver excellent care to patients in a wide variety of settings. But they are also well-rounded individuals, grounded in a range of educational disciplines and traditions. Our students know how to treat and care for patients effectively—and how to process and understand different ideas and philosophies—proving every day that nursing is both a science and an art. An overview of the BSN curriculum is available from BryanLGH College of Health Sciences School of Nursing.
RN to BSN Hybrid Completion Option
As licensed professionals, Registered Nurses automatically earn 36 credit hours as they work toward completing the 64 nursing major credit hours required for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree—and they may also apply real-world clinical experience toward the remaining 28 hours of credit in the major. Students enrolled in the RN to BSN Hybrid Completion Option earn their Bachelor’s degree by completing an additional 64 credit hours of academic coursework outside of the Nursing major. Nursing courses are offered in a hybrid format with only 3 on-campus meetings over the course of the term. Students with clinical practice experience in the workplace can apply for portfolio validation towards the clinical portion of the 28 nursing credit hours. An overview of the RN to BSN nursing curriculum is available from BryanLGH College of Health Sciences School of Nursing.
The General Education program at BryanLGH College of Health Sciences also provides an overview for curriculum requirements for students in both the BSN program and the RN to BSN Completion Option.
All undergraduates in the School of Nursing at the BryanLGH College of Health Sciences participate in unparalleled hands-on experience early in their studies, completing 1300-1600 clinical hours by graduation, training with state-of-the-art equipment—including our Human/Patient Simulators and Skills Labs—studying with committed faculty and working alongside outstanding healthcare professionals at the BryanLGH Medical Center—one of the most renowned healthcare organizations in the Midwest.
